New wordpress theme RedWave

Download Red Wave | Click here for Demo

This skin stands out to your average skin; it uses a different colour scheme. There is a nice contrast between red and black with different shades used, there is also rounded edges to give it a smoother and more stylish look. The navigation bars are aligned to the right and are given titles which are customizable; the titles lay on top of a box which has curved edges. The box is filled with a gradient mixed with a partial red edge. The centre section of the page is white and allows the contents to stand out more in contrast to the black background that lies behind

I like this quite a bit. I’m always looking for themes for other projects I work on. - the one thing I noticed was that search at the top right is not spelled right in the demo. I looked quickly through the theme files and I think they’re ok. other than that, it looks great.

Srik on 4 November, 2007 at 9:37 am #

hello, yes its spelled correctly in the theme files, updated demo now

Great theme I am currently using It. How can I make that links stand out in color in my posts?
Is there a way?
Thanks

Chris on 14 November, 2007 at 10:31 am #

I really like the theme a lot too, but I have the same issue as Carlos. I really need to get the links to stand out in color. Is there a way to make this change? Thanks!

shan on 17 November, 2007 at 4:46 am #

I like your theme & tried it.
A problem is that I’m writing in Chinese, & the font size of the characters is too small. Tried to make changes in the CSS file. Only the “About” changes, & passages in the “Main” remains the same. Can you please tell me why & how to do it? Thank you.

Hey - lovely theme. Nice work One small problem on blog post (single.php)if a user is not logged in (and comment form not visible), the sidebars drop down beneath the post body. Any idea how to fix that?

Vankojo on 8 December, 2007 at 11:50 am #

I use 3 site with all askgrapihcs theme, thanks :D

anduril on 17 December, 2007 at 4:18 am #

It’s a great theme, however I couldn’t use wp-postviews plugin with it. It doesn’t count the views. But it’s working with the default theme. I am using wp 2.3.1. How can you help me?

anduril on 17 December, 2007 at 10:57 am #

I couldn’t work it out and switched to black red theme. I guess it has better functionality. Red wave also has a problem with comment links. When you click on a comment from the sidebar, it always shows the top of the post not the comment itself.

Doug Smith on 4 January, 2008 at 7:32 pm #

Tried it. Widget column changes have no effect on the main page. There is an uncategorized blog roll appearing in column 2. Dragging new items to column 1 or 2 change nothing. I’ll leave it up so you can take a look.

Doug Smith on 5 January, 2008 at 11:29 am #

My mistake. Fixed the issue. Apparently WP-cache was still running somehow even when it appeared not be activated.

DO you have a 125×125 but to I can add to my page to give your site some shameless promotion over here?

Liz on 15 January, 2008 at 6:58 am #

I love this theme- thanks for the use of it. Only one thing I need to change and that is the font size, its too small. Please can you tell me which part of the Style sheet determines the text size so that I can increase it?

Srik on 15 January, 2008 at 7:26 am #

Liz,

open style.css and search for :

#blog_left .item_class .item_class_text{
color:#5f5f5f;
font-size:11px;
line-height:20px;
padding-left:5px;
padding-right:0px;
padding-bottom:5px;
padding-top:10px;
background:url(images/title_line.gif) no-repeat center top;
float:left;
width:570px;
font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}

then change the font size “font-size:11px;”

Srik on 15 January, 2008 at 7:27 am #

Doug i will have it in a couple of days.

Liz on 15 January, 2008 at 11:03 pm #

Thanks so much for replying. I do have another question now. How can I stop certain pages from appearing in the top menu- eg privacy policy and protected download pages? Also in the posts I have a passworded post and it shows up as “protected” in the sidebar.
Can you hep with these please? Thanks

EB on 22 January, 2008 at 1:19 am #

Please can you tell me how to stop pages appearing in the top menu? I see this was the first question asked on this page but no answers yet.

Hi! Love the theme! But I’m new to websites. How do I add a Contact page (or extra pages in general)? I’m sure it’s something easy (copying code from one place to another) but I can’t quite figure out where. Or, if it’s too lengthy to explain, can you point me to an online tutorial? Thanks!! :-)

Nikii on 12 February, 2008 at 2:41 pm #

Nevermind. I just saw where I can “write” a new page and that solved the first part. Just need a plugin for a contact page form, right?

Srik on 12 February, 2008 at 2:44 pm #

yes, there are many plugins, just do a google search

Great Theme (Uploading it to my server) - 1 Question, can we put 125×125 ads on the side bar? (in Widgets) maybe?

Adam on 13 March, 2008 at 11:39 am #

I managed to fix that problem with the sidebars appearing under the comments box in the event no users were logged onto the website.

Open file ‘comments.php’

Find and locate the following code:

You must be <a href=”/wp-login.php?redirect_to=”>logged in to post a comment.

and replace with this code:

You must be <a href=”/wp-login.php?redirect_to=”>logged in to post a comment.

Hope that helps.

Adam on 13 March, 2008 at 11:41 am #

Seems my last comment didn’t like the tags I put into the comments box.

All you have to do is put a in the comments.php file after line 62.

Lovely theme, have been using it (slightly altered) for a while now. Thanx!

Doug Smith on 5 April, 2008 at 2:12 pm #

Srik send me an image and I’ll add it to my advertisers images. Your theme has really made a difference here so I want to return the favor. Send me an image or give me a link - editor@popularwireless.com

Doug Smith on 5 April, 2008 at 4:32 pm #

Never mind. I created one from an available image. Just check the blog to see it.

Dee on 8 May, 2008 at 6:47 pm #

Greetings, I LOVE this theme and would like to be able to use it.

IS it optimized and compatible with WP 2.5.1??????

ALSO- when I put an image code into the comments section - with other themes it allows this and I can see the images.

Why can’t I see the html images that I put in the comments section?

Is there an upgrade for this theme?
Thanks

RC on 19 May, 2008 at 11:43 am #

Hello,

Great theme, I’m using it for my reviews of astronomy gear. I wish I could somehow add a small picture in the header to personalize the theme but well, you can’t have it all :)
